Eurasian Security: Myanmar delegation participates in the High-Level Conference

The International High-Level Conference "Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World" took place in Minsk, Belarus, on October 26th and 27th.
Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing of the Ministry of Union Government Office (2) participated in the conference, along with Foreign Ministers from Belarus, Russia, and Hungary, Deputy Foreign Ministers from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Iran, Heads of 34 Embassies based in Minsk, and representatives from 7 international organizations, including the UN, CSTO, SCO, EEC, CIS, EAEU, and ICRC. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko conveyed a greeting message to the participants, emphasizing the importance of resolving armed conflicts through prevention, protection, and diplomacy.
The conference focused on global and regional geopolitical issues in the Eurasian region and the interactions between countries and regional organizations.
In his statement, Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing stressed the need for a global security framework based on multilateralism and Myanmar's commitment to peace and security. He highlighted the transformative shifts in international relations and the importance of dialogue and collaboration between nations.
The Union Minister expressed concern about deepening global conflicts and acknowledged the role of organizations like the SCO and CSTO in crisis resolution.
Myanmar affirmed its commitment to principles of sovereignty, non-interference, and mutual respect in international relations and expressed readiness to collaborate with regional and international partners for a secure and harmonious Eurasian region.
The Union Minister encouraged joint efforts for peace and prosperity, urging the diverse Eurasian populace to unite for a future defined by tranquility and economic well-being.
The idea for the conference was proposed by President Alexander Lukashenko during the CSTO summit in Yerevan in November 2022, with Belarus currently chairing the CSTO under the theme "For peace and security through unity and cooperation."
During their stay in Minsk, the Myanmar delegation visited the Consulate General of Myanmar, the National Library of Belarus, and the Belarus State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. They returned to Tadaoo International Airport in Mandalay on Sunday morning.
