In response to recent misinformation circulating on social media, the Rakhine State Education Office has clarified that there is no truth to the fake news suggesting the closure of 1,200 schools across 10 townships in northern Rakhine State.

The erroneous claims allege that the closures are a result of terrorist acts by the AA Group. According to the official, the schools in Buthidaung, Maungdaw, Rathaedaung, Ponnakyun, Pauk Taw, Min Pya, Myay Pon, Kyauk Taw, Mrauk-U, and Sittwe are open and operating as usual.

Local residents are urged not to be misled by deceptive media outlets and those supporting terrorist activities, and parents are encouraged to support and motivate their children to continue their education without interruption.
