Farmers by El Salvador volcano face down old 'enemy'

Despite a decrease on the activity of the Chaparrastique volcano in the country's east, authorities in El Salvador are maintaining the prohibition of farming, hiking and tourism activities around the volcano.

Civil Defense Director Luis Alonso Amaya said three municipalities remain on alert. The Environmental Ministry’s observatory said the intensity of the eruptions in the central crater of the volcano intensity was 1 on a scale from 0 to 8. There were no reported injuries.
