Thick black smoke filled the sky as a fire raged on the outskirts of Bangkok on Monday following an explosion at a foam and plastic pellet manufacturing factory which took place in the early hours of the morning. At least one person was killed and dozens have been injured from the incident, and a wide area around the blast site has been evacuated over fears of poisonous fumes from burning chemicals and the possibility of additional explosions. Emergency workers were still in attendance and firefighting helicopters had previously dumped water on areas of the large complex which were more challenging to reach.  No statement has been released about the cause of the explosion.
