Flash flood kills seven in Sichuan

The surging floods in Longxi river on Wednesday swept away more than ten tourists in Ya'an City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, with seven killed and four rescued.

The accident occurred at around 10:00 local time when the water level in the river rose rapidly. Those tourists were washed away while taking photos on Yulin Dam, a popular tourism attraction known for fish scale-shaped water barrier.

A video captured by an onlooker showed several people being stranded in raging floodwaters. The searching and rescue operation for survivors is underway.
