Flood in Bago: Chief Minister made inspection in Bago

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, along with the Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief, and Resettlement, conducted a field trip on Wednesday to expedite the receding of floodwaters in Bago.

They attended a work coordination meeting of the Bago Region Disaster Management Committee and discussed the timely distribution of food supplies to relief camps, the water purification process in wards and villages where the water had receded, maintenance work on embankments to prevent the inflow of Bago River water, and reports on the damage to monsoon paddy plantations.

Officials presented their ongoing efforts and future plans, and the Chief Minister provided instructions. Later, they inspected the renovation of the retaining wall on the eastern detour road, sanitation work in Hmawkan and Ponnar Su Wards.

They also met with charity associations that had assisted in the rescue efforts and expressed gratitude. Additionally, they met with the Deputy Minister for Construction to coordinate the proper flow of water on the detour roads and the construction of box culverts and bridges.

They then inspected the construction of a temporary bailey bridge, the renovation of Zalat Htaw Spillway, and efforts to prevent water inflow from the Pan Hlaing embankment.
