Flooding In Hpakant: URU Creek Water Level Rises And Floods Villages, Wards

Following heary rain, the water level of Uru Creek has risen and flooded Hpakant Township area of Kachin State. Villages along the Uru Creek and low-lying wards in Hpakant Township have been flooded since the 17th of August.

In Kansi area, the Uru Creek has reached above the danger level of 9 feet. Preparations are already made to evacuate the people if the Creek water level continues to rise, Information and Public Relations Department reported
