Good-Will Visit: SG Visits 39 Gorkha Training Centre

During his good-will visit in India, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party paid homage to Chaukhandi Stupa near Varanasi, yesterday, according to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

The Senior General and party also paid homage to Dhamarajika  stupa , Dhamekha Stupa in Migadawun Park and Buddha relic building built by Sri Lanka near Migadawun and offered flowers, water, lights and gold foils.

Later, the Senior General and wife made cash donations to the Buddha relic building Sayadaw and paid respects to the image of the Buddha giving his first sermon to the five disciples. On arrival at Myanmar monastery in Varanasi, the Senior General and party took Five Precepts from the Sayadaw and donated offertories to sanghas and nuns.

The Myanmar delegation led by the Commander-in-Chief later went to 39 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) in Varanasi. They observed firing of small arms by trainees from Dronacharya Fire Control Centre and a demonstration of Kukri knife fighting.
