Hindus in Pakistan celebrate festival of colour

Members of Karachi's Hindu community celebrated the colourful festival of Holi on Monday. The main celebrations were held at a Hindu temple in central Karachi. The celebrations saw people throw coloured powder on each other whilst singing and dancing around the the Holi bonfire.

Holi is a major Hindu festival of colours and celebrates the arrival of the spring harvest season, combined with a religious tale marking the victory of good over evil. Hindu community member said: "It is day of the triumph of good and defeat of evil. We should pray for the good for the world so that it triumphs and would prevail around the world."
