The Hong Kong Palace Museum opened its doors to the public on Sunday morning. More than a dozen visitors queued up for more than an hour in advance.

The museum was scheduled to open on Saturday but was postponed due to Typhoon Chaba. As of now, all tickets available for pre-order this month have been sold out.

At 9 a.m., a lion dance performance kicked off the opening of the Hong Kong Palace Museum. This is the first cooperation project of the Beijing Palace Museum outside the Chinese mainland.

Next, more than 900 precious cultural relics from the Palace Museum in Beijing will be displayed on a rotating basis.
