Hundreds of French, Canadian nationals stranded in Peru head home

Hundreds of French nationals and Canadians left Peru on Wednesday after two weeks stranded in the country since the borders closed due to coronavirus. Some 300 French tourists gathered at the French Alliance, waiting to board buses which took them to the Peruvian Air Force base for their flight. Meanwhile, some 400 Canadians formed long lines at the embassy, also waiting for buses. Currently, Canada is reporting 9,489 cases with 108 deaths. France is reporting 56,989 and 4,032 deaths.
