Hong Kong leader John Lee visited a mourning hall on Thursday to pay his respects to the late former Chinese President Jiang Zemin. China’s Central Government office in Hong Kong set up a mourning hall inside its headquarters for Jiang, who passed away on Tuesday. A large portrait of Jiang was hung inside the mourning hall with large yellow and white flower arrangements.

Members of the public who want to go inside the mourning hall need to register in advance and bring along proof of a negative COVID-19 test. A special area was set up outside the building for members of the public who want to lay flowers and write massages of condolences. A memorial for Jiang will be held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday 6 December.
