Illegal trade: Timbers,commercial equipment, vehicles seized

Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, illegal trade is effectively prevented and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

On 20 April, the combined on-duty teams confiscated 1.118 tonnes of illegal teak and a Super Custom vehicle carrying these timbers in Hlegu Township of Yangon Region, the customs team seized one set of DJI Air Drone (Used) from a cargo trunk at the Import Desk of Yangon International Airport,illegal teaks weighing 0.829 tonne, illegal hardwoods weighing 0.535 tonne and illegal other timbers weighing 6.104 tonnes in Bago and Toungoo districts and two unregistered vehicles in Okshitpin and Indagaw, an unregistered Hijetvehicle at the Yadanabon bridge combined checkpoint in Sagaing Township.

On 21st April, 0.410 tonne of illegal teak, 5.956 tonnes of hardwood, and 1.842 tonnes of other wood were seized in Bago, Toungoo and Pyay Districts, one unlicensed Kenbo 125 motorcycle in Kalay Township and one unlicensed Kenbo 125 Motorcycle in Tamu Township in Sagaing Region. The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported that 13 arrests were made on 20th and 21st April, with an estimated value of 60.84 million Kyats.
