India and the United States launched a partnership on Monday to fight climate change and speed up India's transition to clean energy.

The partnership signed by US climate envoy John Kerry and Indian Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav is part of the India-US Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 which aims to provide financial and technological support to India to meet its goals under the Paris climate agreement.

India is the world's third biggest emitter of greenhouse gases after China and the US.
