Inspection Tour: Agricultural development in Tatkone

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw visited the ShweMyo Livestock Breeding Zone in Tatkone on November 30th.

During the inspection, he assessed the progress of a 330 ft long and 36 ft high earthen water storage dam under construction. The Deputy Minister emphasized the need for a reliable water supply in the breeding zone, directing the implementation of a pipeline system and pumping system.

Then, the Deputy Minister oversaw the construction of a temporary dam, the poultry farm and incubation area. On arrival at Shauk Kone Village-tract, he observed the irrigation water supply from a tube well.

At the Tatkone Township Office for the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management, the Deputy Minister met with local farmers, and discussed the strategies for double cropping, the systematic formation of farmers' groups to facilitate year-round cultivation, and collaborative efforts between Water User Groups and government departments for the overall development of the agriculture sector.
