Inspection Tour: Vice President Inspects Regional Development Works In Chin State

Vice President U Henry Van Thio inspected regional development works in Chin State on Thursday.

Firstly, the Vice President inspected completion of a school building at No.1 Basic Education High School in Tedim and heard report.

Also, the Vice President attended National Registration cards presenting ceremony at the School’s multifunctional Hall. He stressed issuance of national registration cards for citizens to vote in the 2020 General Election which is set to be held on the 8th of November, and the importance of checking the voter list. Chin State Chief Minister U Salai Lian Luai and many other officials presented National Registration cards to locals.

In the meeting with town elders, the Vice President stressed preventive measures against COVID-19 and election awareness.

A local reported on a series of matters including drinking water sufficiency, hospital upgrade and electrification. The Vice President also provided cash assistance to COVID-19 volunteers.

The Vice President continued his trip to mulberry farm in Tunzan Township and heard report.

He also inspected construction of 60 feet long and 70 feet wide Multi Purpose Cyclone Shelter and heard report.

The Vice President also met with town elders at the General Administration Department. He stressed the Government’s efforts for regional development in Tunzun Township; cooperation on COVID-19 prevention and control; and importance of election.

The Vice President also inspected construction of a 2-storey building in the 25-bed General Hospital and heard report. The building is designed to be 95 feet long and 50 feet wide.

Also, the Vice President inspected construction of Manipur river-crossing Bahr Bridge which is designed to be 557.77 feet long and 30 feet wide.
