Inundation: Townships In Mon State Affected By Flood

Due to the heavy rain from 6 PM on 4th August, about 20 houses in Thiriyatanar and Thitar streets in Satt Thit Ward, Thanphyuzayat Township, Mon State were overflowed into the house about a foot, about 110 people from 25 houses in Badaukmyaing, Phwar Ohn Sein, Khaing Thitsar streets in Kyaung Paing Ward due to have overflow of water into the houses about 4 feet were evacuated to the ward’s post primary school.

Moreover, the streets in Aungzayya ward were flooded about 3 feet and some houses were flooded, the street in front of Myanma Economic Bank and Road Management Department was also flooded about a foot. The heavy rain and mountain torrent caused PhaungSein Bridge on Thanbyuzayat-Mawlamyaing road was inundated by about a foot and half of water and made traffic suspended.

For the safety of people and vehicles, fire service department, police force, society organizations and Tatmadaw men helped for necessaries.
