Israel sends shipment of medical aid to India

Israel on Tuesday began shipping medical aid to Delhi in a bid to help India in its fight with the raging coronavirus pandemic. Israel's foreign ministry said hundreds of oxygen generators, respirators, and other items of medical equipment would be flown to India throughout the week.

Israeli Foreign Ministry Official, Gilad Cohen said “Israel is standing now by India and sending medical equipment, oxygen generators and oxygen respirators, as well as medical equipment to our great friend. And we hope that this equipment will help survive and have the Indians recover from this COVID-19 that India is facing right now."

India's official count of coronavirus cases surpassed 20 million Tuesday, while deaths officially have passed 220,000.
