Italian Prime Minister GiorgiaMeloni condemns Iran's unprecedented strikes on Israel, warning that a spread of the conflict could have very significant consequences for the Middle East and beyond.
GiorgiaMeloni, Italian Prime Minister said "We condemn -- and this I repeat on the part of the Italian government and its presidency of the G7, as it was by every G7 country too -- the Iranian attack on Israel. However, I believe it is very important to work towards de-escalation. Because an escalation in a conflict within that region, as we all know, could have very significant consequences."
The incident came as tensions have soared over Iran's missile and drone attacks from late Saturday on Israel in retaliation for a deadly strike on Tehran's consulate in Damascus.
