Kento Momota and Huang Ya Qiong take badminton's top awards

Kento Momota of Japan and Huang Ya Qiong of China won the Badminton World Federation's Players of the Year awards at a gala ceremony held in Guangzhou, China on Monday. Momota, 25, won ten titles in 2019, including the World and Asian championships as well as becoming the first Japanese man to win the prestigious All-England crown. Huang Ya Qiong, 25, picked up the women's award for the second successive year after winning the World doubles championship with her partner as well as all three Super 1000 titles.
