The world's top two carbon polluters, China and the United States, jointly pledged on Wednesday to increase their cooperation on climate action. Washington and Beijing agreed on "a series of important actions" for this decade when it was "needed" to keep the Paris Agreement threshold of a 1.5degree Celsius rise in global temperatures within reach.

John Kerry, US climate envoy said “I'm pleased to announce that we will work together to limit methane, methane emissions, a greenhouse gas up to 80 times more destructive, more potent than CO2." Beijing and Washington also agreed to share technology to reduce emissions.
