Landslide in Paung: 23 died and 29 rescued as of 9:00 pm on Friday: MFSD

23 people died due to landslide in ThaePhyuKone Village of Paung Township in Mon State and 29 victims have been rescued as of 9:00 pm on Friday, according to Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The edge of Thae Phyu Hill fell down due to torrential rain in the early morning, causing damaged to a number of houses and blocked transportation.

Mon State Chief Minister, Tatmadawmen, Fire Brigade members and members of rescue team rushed to the site and undertook rescues measures.

Moreover, debris and soil were removed from the damaged places with the help of machinery. The rescue measures are being continued.
