at the UN's General Assembly meeting on Wednesday, Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro demanded United States and Europe to lift sanctions from his country.
Venezuela broke relations with the United States in 2019 stating that the U.S. had made plans to destabilize his government and force his removal. Washington froze all work with the Venezuelan government prohibiting U.S. citizens and international partners to do business with Venezuela in an attempt to pressure Maduro to leave power.
Maduro failed to recognize last week's findings of the UN's fact finding mission into human rights abuses stating that Venezuela's judicial system has played a "significant role" in state repression in the country, citing widespread allegations of rights violations.
