Making donation: SAC members donate rice and edible oil

Members of the State Administration Council Saw Daniel, U Sai Lone Hsai, U Shwe Kyein, Union Ministers Lt-Gem Tun Tun Naung and U Saw Tun Aung Myint, the Kayah State Chief Minister and officials donated rice and edible oil to monasteries and Christian Churches on Monday.

First, the SAC members, the Union Ministers, the State Chief Minister and officials went to Abbot monastic training school and paid homage to the Sayadaws. After receiving the Five Precepts from the Chairman of the State Sangha Nayaka Committee presiding sayadaw, the SAC members and party donated offertories, rice and edible oil to sayadaws and members of sanghas.

From there, they visited Christ the King Church and SAC member Saw Daniel extended greetings. At the Christian abbeys and nunneries, the SAC members and the Union Ministers donated rice and edible oil to priests and Sisters.

On the occasion, 233 bags of rice and 466 vissess of edible oil were donated to 816 monks from 41 Buddhist monasteries and 116 nuns from 3 nunneries as well as 64 bags of rice and 129 visses of edible oil to 156 priests and 102 Sisters from 45 Christian abbeys and nunneries. The donated amount was more than 20.8 million kyats.
