Medicinal Plants Garden: Displaying Plantation Of Seasonal Vegetables To Be Extended

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo said that promoting Myanmar tradition which intakes the seasonal vegetables as seasonal diets, spreading the diet habit of letting food be medicine and medicine be the food and disseminating knowledge regarding with the Myanmar medicinal plants to the public will be implemented, while he was inspecting the garden of alternative medicinal plants in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

The Nay Pyi Taw garden of alternative medicinal plants has been established and the natural medicinal plants and rare medicinal plants are grown by dividing categories by three ministries and the public is offered for their observation.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation has planted over 120 medicinal plants in its displaying portion of land. Among those medicinal plants, 20 kinds of plants which cure the malaria, 22 which heal tuberculosis, 25 kinds of Gamon plants which have medicinal effects and 28 kinds of medicinal plants acquired from the Regions and States.

Next, the union minister, deputy minister and officials held a coordination meeting to extend the displaying plantation of seasonal and daily diet vegetables in the garden to implement the saying “let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food.”

Then, the deputy minister and officials discussed and reported the matters to upgrade the displaying plantation, extend and carry out the educating works. Afterward, the union minister inspected cold storage factory implementing by GEC of the ministry near Myoma Market of Nay Pyi Taw and instructed to repair and upgrade the cold storage factory for selling fresh meats and vegetables to the public.
