Meeting in Kayin State: Promoting MSME development and economic growth

Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, and Commander-in-Chief (Army), Vice Senior General Soe Win, held a meeting with MSME business owners, departmental personnel, and representatives of local national races at Zwegabin Hall in Pa-An of Kayin State.
During the meeting, Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo provided updates on the ongoing implementations for the development of MSME industries. The representatives from MSME businesses highlighted their work undertakings, reported obstacles encountered, and shared insights into the progress of the tourism sector in the state.
In response to these reports, member of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and officials elaborated on the government’s efforts for MSME development. They discussed topics such as loan disbursement from the State Economic Development Fund, the importance of regional stability for overall development, ongoing training programs for human resource development, providing capital for the formation of cooperation associations, ensuring socio-economic development, and acquiring property rights for trademarks.
Vice Senior General Soe Win emphasized the crucial role of departmental personnel, MSME agencies, and the local populace in ensuring the success of the MSME industry through collective efforts. Kayin State currently boasts 1,187 MSME businesses with 625 members, and industrial zones in Pa-An and Myawady have achieved production to some extent.
The Vice Senior General urged all business owners to apply for the MSME member card to enjoy promising rights for business extension. He encouraged MSME business owners to strive towards becoming exporters instead of remaining importers, underscoring the importance of collaboration for the nation's development.
Following the meeting, Vice Senior General Soe Win and party toured displays showcasing MSME products, including regional items, foodstuff, consumer goods, industrial products, and traditional items.
