Meeting with Red Cross Society: Union Minister Holds Talks with Concerned Officials

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Thet Khaing Win met with president of Myanmar Red Cross Society Dr. Maung Maung Myint and Vice President Dr. Daw Amaya Maw Naing in Nay Pyi Taw.

In the meeting at the Ministry, the President explained provision of humanitarian assistance by Myanmar Red Cross Society in cooperation with international Red Cross societies, healthcare services in conflict areas, assistance from the international Red Cross societies and activities of the Myanmar Red Cross in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and also in COVID-19 vaccination programme.

The Union Minister thanked the Myanmar Red Cross Society for their activities in cooperation with the international Red Cross societies. He pledged to provide more assistance to the Myanmar Red Cross Society and called for cooperation with concerned health departments for healthcare services in conflict areas. The Union Minister also ensured that healthcare volunteers are vaccinated against COVID-19.
