Meritorious Deeds: New religious building and Lighting Festival in Myitkyina

A libation ceremony for the donation of newly constructed Saddhamika Beikman was held in the compound of Samiddhodaya Nunnery of Myitkyina Township in the morning on 29th October, the full moon day of Thadingyut in the presence of Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan.
And, the Chief Minister and the senior nun of the nunnery cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the newly built Beikman. At the libation ceremony, the Chief Minister and congregation received five precepts from the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha, and listened to the Pritta Suttas.
Then, the Chief Minister and well-wishers donated offertories and cash to the Sayadaws and members of Sangha, listened to the religious sermons and offered day meal. In the evening of 28th October, the Chief Minister and wife paid a visit to the Myanmar Traditional Thadingyut lighting festival held at the People’s Square of Myitkyina Township and treated charity feast to all comers, together with departmental organizations.
Also, the ancient historical pagodas such as the Lawka Manaung and Antaw- shin Pagodas were teeming with visitors who are willing to perform meritorious deeds and participate in Thadingyut lighting festival, followed by charity feast donation to all devotees in accordance to the plan of Kachin State Government.
