Meritorious Deeds: Releasing fish and paying respect on New Year Day

The Ministry of Home Affairs held Fish Releasing Ceremony at Mingalar Lake in Bawgatheikdi Ward, Zabuthiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday morning to mark the 1st day of 1386 Myanmar New Year.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and wife, Deputy Ministers and their wives, permanent secretary and wife, Directors-General, senior officials, staff and their family members.
During the ceremony the Union Minister and wife, and party released a total of 3000 Swamp Barb and Hamilton's carp fingerlings into the Mingalar Lake.
Then,the Union Minister and party attended a respect paying ceremony to the elder persons at the Union Minister’s Office of the Ministry and paid respect to thea total of 25 elder persons who aged 80 and above. One of the elder persons sent prayers and expressed words of appreciation.
It’s reported that, cash assistance and gifts were presented to a total of 101 elder persons of the staff families during the ceremony.
