Mexican authorities remove medical waste from hospital treating COVID-19

Workers of a private company hired by the Veracruz environmental authority removed scores of bags with medical waste piled up outside a hospital treating COVID-19 patients, as Mexico's record of virus cases hits 500,000. Mexico on Thursday surpassed half a million confirmed cases of COVID-19 after registering 7,371 new infections in 24 hours, authorities said. The country now has 505,293 cases overall, with 55,293 deaths, the Ministry of Health said.
