Hanoi authorities started a project to grow bamboo around TrúcBạch Lake, aiming to increase green spaces in the capital city. This small “bamboo forest” has drawn numerous locals and tourists, establishing itself as a new destination in Hanoi. This effort is part of the authorities' larger plan to refurbish public flower beds and parks throughout the city.

As part of Hanoi authorities’ initiative on “urban embellishment, urban development, and urban economy for the period 2021–2025,” the project of planting bamboo and renovating the lake is nearing completion. This plan aims to transform the city by adding more green open spaces.
