Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday to discuss defense and trade relations. The two countries signed a slew of bilateral defense agreements. During the meeting, Modi said the agreements reached would be "beneficial across various sectors." and India's defense ministry called it a "landmark" deal.

The two countries also signed an agreement to extend their military technology cooperation for the next decade. India and Russia have a long history of close ties and have already set a target of $30 billion in bilateral trade by the end of 2025.
