Myanmar / China: Joint maritime security exercise set in designated areas

China’s 44th PLA Navy Escort Task Group (ETG) with its destroyer, frigate and a supply ship which is on a goodwill visit to Myanmar left Yangon's Thilawa port on Friday afternoon.

During the visit, the delegation comprised of a total of about 700 officers and other ranks led Senior Captain Sun Bo visited the Tatmadaw vessel (Kyansitha) on November 30. They also visited prominent places in Yangon and competed in China-Myanmar friendly sport competition and donated stationery to a school in Thanlyin Station.

It’s reported that this 44th PLA Navy Escort Task Group left Yangon to conduct a joint maritime security exercise with the Tatmadaw (Navy) in designated areas.
