Nigeria prepares for presidential election

Preparations were being made on Thursday for Nigeria's presidential and parliamentary elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) started distributing ballot boxes and other materials in Abuja and other regions of the country on Thursday, ahead of the vote that will take place this weekend.

Staff prepared ballot boxes and other documents ready to be sent to polling stations in the African most populous country.The Election Analysis Centre, part of the Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) -an NGO and non-profit organization promoting democratic development in West African countries - said that they have identified five main obstacles that could affect the electoral process."

Identity issues, insecurity issues, institutional strengthening issues, information disorder issues, inter an intra-party disputes,” announced Professor Adele Jinadu, chairman of CDD  - during a news conference in Abuja on Thursday.
