Non-Stale Robe Weaving Ceremony: Inaugural celebration at Maravijaya Buddha Image

The Non-Stale Robe Weaving Ceremony was held for the first time at the Maravijaya Buddha Image in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

The opening ceremony took place on the Water Fountain Platform of Buddha Park in Deckhina Thiri Township, with the presence of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Namotasa three times, followed by the recital of victorious and auspicious rituals by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Tin Oo Lwin. The Prime Minister and wife formally inaugurated the ceremony by cutting the ceremonial ribbon, followed by striking the auspicious gong that signaled the beginning of the weaving process.

As the weaving teams commenced their activities, the event came to life with lively performances by artists from Myanma Radio and Television, the Fine Arts Departments, and the Myawady Music Band. Simultaneously, attendees released small hot-air balloons and gas balloons.

The Prime Minister and wife, accompanied by their entourage, closely observed the weaving process of the nine participating teams, offering encouragement to the participants. Subsequently, they joined the spectators in enjoying the release of Nyameegyi and Seinnaban Hot-Air Balloons.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister and wife paid homage to the Maravijaya Buddha Image, offerings flowers, water, and light. Additionally, they participated in the lighting of 3,600 candles, and greeted the pilgrims.
