Onion Export to Bangladesh: Aiming for the larger export market for Myanmar

Bangladesh is one of the countries that import onions the most from abroad and the main importing countries are India, Turkyie, Pakistan, Myanmar, New Zealand, Egypt and the Republic of China. India is the largest onion exporter to Bangladesh while Myanmar took the 3rd place.

From 2016 to 2021, the import of onions from foreign countries has been on the rise. And, Bangladesh’s onion exports are at an all-time high, which has a promising market for regular exports for Myanmar. If more onions can be exported from Myanmar in the months of September, October and November when exports from India decrease, it will be a great opportunity for the growing state’s income.
