Opening of Basketball Competition: SAC members attended the opening ceremony

Members of the State Administration Council attended the opening ceremony of 2023-2024 Regions and States Basketball competition, held at Wunna Theiddhi Stadium (c) in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 26th January.

The ceremony was attended by SAC members Daw Dwe Bu, U Shwe Kyein, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, departmental heads and officials, responsible officials from Myanmar Basketball Federation, coaches of the contestant teams and athletes.

First, the Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan clarified the objectives of organizing the competition urging the athletes to compete in the competition with the best ability, skills and the spirit of sportsmanship and to be athletes who bring the pride of the country and then, he opened the 2023-2024 Regions and States Basketball competition.

Afterward, the SAC members, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan and officials cordially greeted the coaches of the contestant teams and athletes.

Then, the SAC members together with the attendees to the opening ceremony enjoyed the basketball (Men event) competition between Shan State and Kachin State. The 2023-2024 Regions and States Basketball competition will be held from 26th January to 1st of February at Wunna Theiddhi Stadium (c) in Nay Pyi Taw and competed by 369 athletes from 12 teams of men and 11 teams of women, it’s learnt.
