Opening new treatment facility: SAC secretary opened new treatment facility in Yangon

The opening ceremony of new medical treatment facility in WeiBarGi Specialist Hospital in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region was held on November 3rd, with the attendance of Secretary of the State Administration Council Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Commander of Yangon Command Ma-J Gen. Nyunt Win Swe, the donor of the facility Chairman of AW Foundation and responsible persons and officials from the ministry of health.

First, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Commander of Yangon Command Ma-J Gen. Nyunt Win Swe, Director General of the Department of Medical Service Dr. Myat Wunna Soe and donor of the facility Chairman of AW Foundation opened the facility by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and the SAC secretary Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe unveiled the bronze inscription by pressing the auto button.

Next, the SAC secretary and officials sprinkled the bronze inscription of new treatment facility and viewed the Isolation Room, Oxygen Plant, 800 KVA Transformer, Stanby Genset, Water Treatment System, the intensive care units in the first floor and patients rooms given treatment providing oxygen and the solar power supply system.

Afterward, SAC secretary Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe delivered an opening speech. The construction works of new medical treatment facility in WeiBarGi Specialist Hospital was commenced in January, 2021 and completed in September, 2022 with the cost of over 6.217 billion Kyats donated by the solely donor of AW Foundation.

Afterward, Union Minister Dr. Thet Khaing Win clarified the two objectives of the ministry of health and the healthcare activities rendering by the ministry and extended words of thanks to the donor AW Foundation and all contributors from the departments and officials from the ministry of health.

Next, the AW Foundation Chairman U Thaung Kyaing explained the emergence of foundation and the account of donating the new treatment facility. Then, the AW Foundation Chairman handed over the documents and records regarding with the new facility to the Director General of the Department of Medical Service Dr. Myat Wunna Soe and the director general presented memorable flower basket and certificate of honor.

After presenting gifts marking the opening ceremony of new treatment facility by the head medical officer of Yangon Region medical service department and the medical superintendent of Weibargi specialist hospital, the opening ceremony was concluded.

Later, SAC secretary Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe and party inspected the construction works of extended 7storey hospital building in Yangon General Hospital and the construction of extended 5 storey building in Yangon Orthopedic Hospital, Kyimyindine Township of Yangon Region, it’s learnt.
