Outstanding Student: The Whole Burma First Emerges From No.1 B.E.H.S, Dagon

A total of 40,963 students from Yangon Region passed the matriculation exam for 2019-2020 Academic Year, according to the Ministry of Education. 124,940 students from Yangon Region sat the exam and the pass percentage is 32.79 %.

3 students from No.1, Basic Education High School, Dagon included in the top-ten list of the whole country including the whole Burma first winner in the science subject. 

Principal, No.1 B.E.H.S, Dagon, Than Naing said “3 students from our school consist of the top-ten list including a student with the highest score in science subject nationwide. So, I am very proud of the school and the students. I’m also proud of the teachers who nurture the outstanding students.”

A student named May ThetTun from No.1 Basic Education High School, Dagon got the highest score in science subject for 2020 matriculation exam and she passed the exam with 6 distinctions with 552 marks. 

The whole Burma first, Science Subject, May ThetTun said “I want to be a pediatrician. In regard with my study, I drew the schedule and studied the lessons in line with the schedule. I gave more time in my weak subjects. I’d like to give suggestion to young students to emphasize on study as the matriculation exam plays a crucial role in life. I will serve the country and I want to give a helping hand to the children in poverty and border areas.”

Total numbers of students who got distinctions in Yangon Region were 11,742 and out of which 235 numbers got six distinctions for 2019-2020 academic year.
