Preparation Measures: No.3 Transit Camp In Nay Pyi Taw Ready To Put 15,000 People

Preparations have been made for accommodating the quarantined persons for COVID-19 disease at No.3 Transit Camp in Nay Pyi Taw.

A total of 15,000 people can be put at the camp, which is now ready for 1080 persons. It is learnt that all the necessary things are also ready for the increasing numbers of people.

No.1 Tactical Operation Commander, Nay Pyi Taw Command, Col. Aung Myat Soe said “With the guidance of the Commader-in-Chief of Defence Services, we have arranged to put 15000 persons for monitoring of COVID-19 at No.3 Transit Camp. Each hostel can be put 108 persons, and a cluster of five hostels can fit for 540 persons. We have a total of 65 clusters of hostel here.  We are now ready for 1080. If there increased more than that number, we have the equipment ready for them.” 

All the quarantined persons will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

No.1 Tactical Operation Commander, Nay Pyi Taw Command, Col. Aung Myat Soe said “We have arranged fried rice and egg and tea for breakfast. For lunch, main dish with meat, bean soup, and the dinner will be meat curry and vegetable soup. There will also be a bottle of purified water in every serving. Every meal is self-service, and they have to throw the waste systematically.  We will collect all the garbage by a garbage van and burn the waste.”

Any suspected persons will be sent to the 1000-bedded Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital or 1000-bedded Defence Services General Hospital respectively.

No.1 Tactical Operation Commander, Nay Pyi Taw Command, Col. Aung Myat Soe said “We will make temperature measurement twice a day, every morning and night. If we found suspected one with high fever, we will send to 1000-bedded hospital for the civilians. The military personnel will be sent to the 1000-bedded Defence Services General Hospital.”

As of 1st April, there are 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar, with one death.
