Preparation Works: UEC Chairman Met Officials in Shan State (North)

The meeting between the Chairman of the Union Election Commission and the departmental officials in Shan State (North) was held Wednesday morning in Lashio.

At the meeting, UEC Chairman U Thein Soe said that the State Administration Council will hold an election after completing the emergency works according to the five-point roadmap and hand over the state power to the winning party.

In carrying out preparatory work to be completed within the stipulated time, for a successful election, the Union Election Commission, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Immigration and Population must work together to ensure the accuracy of the census and the voter lists. Election officers from the “Wa” Self-Administered Division, Lashio District, Muse District, Kyaukme District and the election officers from the election sub-commissions in Shan State (North) presented their works. And the UEC Chairman concluded the meeting.
