A new UNDP project has been launched and signed off on climate-resilient agriculture in the Aral Sea region in Uzbekistan.

The Aral Sea is one of the saltiest lakes and fourth largest lake in the world. Its water contains an estimated 11 million tons of salt, and dust storms throw salt and toxic chemicals. Uzbek scientists and world society is focused on solving these problems. The sea level has dropped by 22 meters over the last 40-45 years.

The project will bring new and educational agricultural supplements to help the communities. It ensures the health and inherent safety of the project. The project is to provide services for the construction of Japan's extensive experience in using innovative agricultural technologies and water saving services in Uzbekistan.
