Providing healthcare services: Mobile special medical team provided health services

The Ministry of Health is providing healthcare services for the people of storm-hit areas starting 15 May.

The Rapid Response Team, special medical teams and medics are providing health services from the Township level to the rural area in timely manner.The mobile medical team led by the director general of the department of medical service comprised of specialists from Sittwe People’s Hospital took a medical tour to Ponnagyun Township on 21st May.

The mobile special medical team comprising one medical service specialist, one surgical operations specialist, obstetric/gynecologist, pediatric specialist, ophthalmologist, orthopedist, anesthesiologist and assistant medical doctor together with the traditional medical practioners stationed at Myoma Parahita monastery in Ponnagyun Township and provided healthcare services for 322 local residents.

Such proving medical services to the locals were viewed and encouraged by the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt. Gen. TunTun Naung and the Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin.
