Regional Meetings: MOSYA Union Minister attends the meeting in Thailand

Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and responsible officials attended the 7th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports and related meetings which is being held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 30th August to 2nd September.

At the meeting, the Minister of Tourism and Sports (Thailand) in his capacity as Chairman of the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS)gave the opening speech and the representatives of the ASEAN member states reported the work completion and the tasks to be carried out in the future as well as prohibited drugs.

Then, the 6th SOMS+Japan and 4th AMMS+Japan meetings continued and they presented the work undertakings in 2022. In the afternoon, the representative of China presented about the promotion and development of traditional sports under ASEAN-China Cooperation program and provision of necessary assistance.

The meeting also coordinated the essentials upon the discussions and suggestions of the representatives of the ASEAN member countries. It is learnt that Vietnam will host the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports in 2024-2025.
