Region/State Taekwondo Competition: Audition Takes Place For Yangon Region Representing Team

The selection of players for the upcoming Region and State Taekwondo Competition was held in Yangon on Tuesday.

Yangon Region Taekwondo Sub Committee organized the audition for Region and State Taekwondo Competition at Myanmar Taekwondo Federation in Aung San Sport Stadium.

100 players from 10 clubs competed in the audition to represent Yangon Region, and 20 judges made selection for the best players.

Secretary, Yangon Region Taekwondo Sub Committee, Aung Nyi Nyi Kyaw said “Taekwondo competition is held every year and we make selection among the players from ten Taekwondo Clubs in Yangon to represent for Yangon Region Team.”

The players have to compete in dance and fight battles.  There are 5 kinds in dance battle and 2 kinds in fight battle, with 30 competitions for dance and 55 for fight.

Taekwondo Player, Kaung Zin Khant  said “I came from Aung San Taekwondo Club and will compete in dance battle. The trainers train once in the morning and evening each day. I have experiences not only in local but also in foreign competitions. I won gold medal in local online Taekwondo competition and this time I will try my best to be selected for the competition.”

15 players each for men and women, totaling 30 players, have been selected, and they will have to undergo camp training for the Region and State Competition that will be held in Nay Pyi Taw from 15 to 17June.
