Rice husk pellets: Husk pellets widely used in Ayeyarwaddy region

Rice husk pellets are being sold at a price of 80,000 kyats per ton and 6,000 kyats per 30-viss bag.

In Danuphyu Township of Maubin district, Ayeyarwaddy Region, Rice husk pellets are being produced for using instead of wood charcoal. It can be used as fuel for home stoves.

It cost only one third of using coal and prevent from forest extinction. Here are the reasons why it should be used more than other fuels.

News In-Charge (Danuphyu Tsp), Aung Pyae Phyo Zaw said "At home stoves, it can be used easily instead of wood charcoal. It has low cost than other fuels and prevents deforestation. When using husk pellet, only a bit of smoke rises at the very initial stage. And the remaining ashes can be recycled as natural fertilizer. It has economic advantages. Husk pellets can be applied efficiently for needy villages where making paddy cultivation. It can save 40% of cost in using gas and oil boilers plus no more cost for maintenance. And around 10% is saved for Coal boilers. Husk pellets are being sold at a price of 80,000 kyats per ton and 6000 kyats per 30-viss bag."

It distributes to steel industries, distilleries, paper industries in Yangon and other production industries. By using husk pellets, it is good for environment as its no pollution as well as reduces CO2 emission and protects deforestation.
