Roadside bomb near Pattani hospital kills policeman

A Thai policeman was killed, and four others injured when a roadside bomb exploded in southern Thailand on Tuesday night.The explosion killed the officer on the motorcycle and caused the truck to veer off the road before crashing into an electrical pole. Three officers in the truck were rushed off to the hospital for treatment. Police believed the bomb was placed in a garbage bin in front of the hospital and detonated remotely. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers sealed off the area and combed nearby streets for evidence.
