South Korea's stock market opened with a bounce up on Wednesday despite tensions heightening regarding Russia and Ukraine.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) started at 2727.43, which was up 0.76% from its previous day's close. Other Asian stock markets also rebounded Wednesday after Wall Street slid on anxiety over President Vladimir Putin's authorization to send Russian soldiers into eastern Ukraine. Shanghai, Hong Kong, South Korea and Australia advanced. Oil prices edged higher on concern about possible disruption to Russian supplies. Japanese markets were closed for a holiday.
