Sports Sector: Meeting on Aung San stadium renovation works

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan received a delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Nong Rong at the meeting hall of Aung San stadium in Yangon on Thursday.
First, the Union Minister explained the current situation of Aung San Sports stadium to the delegation. Then, he made an greeting speech and Director General from the Department of Sports and Physical Education made a power point presentation on history of Aung San stadium, location, saudience capacity, damaged parts of building, archived photos of the inspection by the Prime Minister for the renovation, parking situation and the conditions of the joint operation with the feasibility study team from China.
Next, the Union Minister said that Myanmar and China will cooperate with each other to facilitate the reconstruction of the new Aung San Sports stadium. He also expressed his belief that experts from both sides work together to achieve the best results.
Then, the Union Minister gave words of thanks to the Deputy Foreign Minister who expressed his understanding on the current situation of Aung San stadium. He added that the renovation works will successfully complete under the China-Myanmar friendship.
On the same day, the Union Minister together with Chairman of Yangon Sports and Physical Education Committee, Director General from Department of Sports and Physical Education and other officials inspected the construction of National Swimming Pool in Dagon Township, gave necessary instructions and fulfilled the requirements.
