Study Tour: Myanmar delegation took study tour to RPSO

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun currently in Russian Federation took a study tour to Russian Power System Operator on 10th October and they were welcome by the Marketing Administrative Director Mr. Katave Andley Mihilovich and officials concerned.

The responsible officials took them round the Russian Power System Operator during their study tour.

According to the clarification of the responsible officials from Russian Power System Operator, Russian Federation is the fourth largest country in the world in the generation of Electric Power and consumption.

There are 991 Power plants and the installed Power is 246500 megawatts. There is a single synchronous electrical grid in Russia, the length of nearly half million kilometer (over 300,000 miles) which included 110 to 750 Kilo Volt and over 10000 sub stations.

In the generation of Electric Power, the sources included 60.7% of Thermal Energy (natural gas and coal), 18.8% of hydro-Power, 20% of Nuclear Power and 0.5% of other Power sources such as wind and solar Power.

The main base load is included 20% of Nuclear Power and 18.8 Hydro-Power. 31 nuclear Power reactors which has installed Power of 21,000 Megawatts from 10 locations across the Russian Federation.

Next, the Marketing Administrative Director Mr. Katave Andley Mihilovich and officials clarified at the meeting hall of the Power system operator and the Union Minister first extended his words of thanks for their warmly welcome and said more cooperation in Electric Power generation is wanted to conduct out of Russia-Myanmar bilateral friendship and discussed the matters regarding with the Power system operator.
